Frank Pizzica

Frank Pizzica, Class of ’64, was involved in many firsts at Nanuet High School: he played in the first varsity football game, he threw the first varsity touchdown pass, and he was the first freshman to start and letter in two sports, basketball and baseball.  Before graduating, he earned 11 varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball and was captain of the basketball and baseball teams.

In addition to athletics, Frank was president of the General Organization, a member of the National Honor Society, played trumpet in the band and dance band, and received a full scholarship to Union College.

He graduated from Union, where he played varsity football and baseball, with a B.S. degree in civil engineering in 1968.

After joining the work force, Frank earned a master of business administration degree in finance and management at night from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass.

His career path began as a design engineer for United Aircraft, but quickly switched to his first love, construction.  After jobs with Boise Cascade Corp. and Ryan Homes, where he was a vice president, Frank started his own home building company in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1972.  His company became the leading builder in Central New York, completing more than 2,500 homes in 17 years. Frank served as president of both the Home Builders Association of Central New York and the New York State Home Builders Association.

In 1995, Frank purchased a small custom-building company in Orlando, Fla., and grew the company to be the largest custom home builder in Central Florida.  He has won numerous local and national design awards for his homes.

Frank and his wife, Linda, have been married for 38 years and live in Lake Mary, Fla., and Norfolk, Conn.  They have two daughters, Kristin and Lindsey.
