Thomas Vislocky

Thomas is a lifelong resident of Nanuet and has been a dedicated fan of Nanuet sports since he was in high school.  A 1983 graduate, he participated in chorus and several plays and always enjoyed rooting for all of Nanuet’s teams.

In 1989 Tom really wanted to become more involved in Nanuet sports, so he went to Coach Conklin and asked if he could use someone to tape the football games.  Coach Conklin agreed with the understanding that he needed someone reliable who could deliver quality work.  Twenty-eight years later Tom is still going strong and has become a valuable member of the Nanuet athletic department.

Over the years Tom has expanded his role to videotaping JV football, both girls and boys varsity and JV basketball, boys soccer, the Nanuet relays, and the Nanuet Football Alumni game.   He also does “scouting” by filming teams that Nanuet will be playing against to help them prepare for their games.  Tom has worked with many coaches over the years including Messrs. Rich Conklin, Phil Carbone, Ralph Rogo, Mike DelliPizzi, Dan Masterson, Sean Barron and Jason Whalon.

Tom has kept up with changes in technology and has researched and purchased equipment over the years to ensure he is getting the best quality when he films.  He is also now providing DVD’s to individual players which have in some cases helped them either get into their college of their choice and even get awarded scholarships.  He has developed a relationship with some of the CBS cameramen who have given him tips over the years on how to film sporting events.

Some of Tom’s favorite memories include the 2009 football team going to Syracuse, the whole family went for the weekend and went to the game and stayed at his niece’s house there, and seeing the basketball team go to the County Center in 2009 and 2015.

Tom considers filming for Nanuet to be the best job in the world.  He feels that if his films can help the coaches and players see something that they can do differently next time to help them get the win then he has done his job.

Tom enjoys spending time with his family including his father, sister, brother and sister-in-law, four nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and nephews.  He is active in his church and also volunteers for the Barclays PGA golf tournament every year.
